Government upside down
One of the biggest problems of today’s governmental structures is that we turned things completely upside down.
Instead of realizing that the natural order of things is individual —> family —> community and only then forms of government; the modern human takes the state as a given, as the beginning of all things.
They see themselves as an individual within and subject to an enormous state apparatus by default.
Democracy is the result.
After all, if you view the state as the natural order of things, then you’re going to want “some say” in how it functions, lest a tyrant takes over.
Hence democracy.
That’s the only way a mass democracy with hundreds of millions of people (and therefore 0% effective influence of the individual on how he is governed) can make any sense to people.
However, if you realize that the natural build-up of a society is based on (the property rights of) the individual – family – community, in that order, you also realize that self governance is the natural order of things. As natural as you getting to decide who enters your house and who sleeps in your bed.
As soon as you realize this, the whole idea that millions of people thousands of miles away from you get to elect a clown that may tell you how to live your life becomes preposterous.
As it should be.
